crazier than a suspect on criminal minds...

Good Friday morning my sweet blogger friends!  I am so glad its Friday, and I'm pretty sure everyone else is too.  I can't say how chaotic and weird the last several days have been in Texas.

This was LAST Friday..  Temperatures hovered in the single digits with windchills below zero.  Can we say BRRR??  Do you notice the height of the snow on the edge of the roof in the second picture?!   Haha and this is Texas we are talking about, where in a few wee months we will be passing the 100 degree mark.

And this was YESTERDAY!  Bright, sunny and not a cloud in the sky.  We are expecting 60 to 70 degree temps this weekend.  I can say this craziness is driving us all a little batty, but the nice increase in temperature is welcomed by all my fellow Texas friends as well as myself.

Oh and for a little more fun - my hair! Yes alot of people think it looks exactly the same - but meh I think its darker than what it was before.  Before it was all kinds of craziness on my head; now its just a nice chestnutty honey all over...  Did you notice my little rosette clip?? I couldn't resist adding to the wardrode yesterday.

Have an amazing Friday and Valentine weekend my friends..  The mister and I have lots going on - well I think we do.  And Monday (Valentine's Day) I hope to share pictures of cupcakes galore - I'm making Red Velvet and now Carrot Cake (to please his sister's wishes) along with my pasta salad (recipe to be shared next week!)

Are you doing anything special with your honey's this love filled weekend?!  Please share (well the appropriate things of course!)

Cheers,

ice age part 2 - the meltdown...

I would love to say that the above is true, but today is just as blistering cold as it was yesterday.  The roads are dry in lots of places, but over zealous drivers are learning the hard way this morning.  Patches of ice are still everywhere and those patches are THICK! I'm still bumming a ride, since poor Bruce is iced into his little parking spot and not going anywhere.  Thank you loyal co-worker!

We are supposed to get more snow tonight, so that will add a nice little coating to the already trecherous roads for tomorrow's commute.  So all I can say is, "Is it July yet?"

With all this nastiness, we have been able to leave work two hours early, so we can be home before the dark sets in.  This has been extra wonderful, because its giving me a little more sewing time, so my items can be finished and posted up onto Cheers, Bethani!  I was able to get three (3) more items posted early this morning, so head over and check them out.  I'm particularly loving the Teal & White Hair Clip - so I will definietely be making one for myself!!

I hope everyone is staying warm and dry in all this craziness, whether you are North, South, East or West.  I'm thinking about you and hoping you stay safe as well; getting out if you don't have to is just not worth it folks.

Happy Thursday to you all! ♥

the beginning of the ice age..

dawn of the ice age

Good lovely morning folks.. Yep I'm just getting to work and settling in.  Its been quite a chaotic scene in DFW today..Single digit temps, rolling blackouts & icy parking lots!  Yea I said rolling blackouts - in the WINTER!  Currently our north tower has no power, so hopefully it doesnt move our direction; I'm currently enjoying the heat.

I was hoping to finish another clutch last night for Cheers, Bethani, but I decided to hit the hay at the usual time in case I had to struggle to find my way this morning.  So MAYBE tonight I will get it finished and up for tomorrow.

Stay warm & safe my friends.  Hopefully, Texas will be back to normal soon, even though the forecast calls for more nastiness and snow Thursday night. Bleh!

xoxo

its an ice-pocalypse!

brrrr!

This is what DFW, Texas looks like this morning! Brrr is all I can say.  I braved the snow, ice, sleet & below freezing temps and carpooled it this morning with a co-worker so I could make it to work.

Yes folks, that how dedicated I am!  LOL.  Hopefully we get an early release, because its only supposed to get worse through the day.  Temperatures aren't supposed to reach above freezing until Friday, so the next few days will be extremely interesting around the metroplex with the Super Bowl and all taking place this week.

I hope all my local DFW blog friends stay warm & safe!  I will post more pictures later of the craziness down south.

thinking and daydreaming ♥

oh i can wish

I can only imagine what I would get done if I had a sewing one room like this.. One day people, one day, even if its a garage, it will happen!

Other news, things are coming along,  though i did have a minor road bump, but an extra fabric store trip was able to fix that.

I also hope everyone is having a Terrific Thursday and that it continues.  I'm hoping to stay bundled up in my cubicle at work, while the sleet/freezing rain and 30 degree temps blow in. Hopefully, it doesn't create too much chaos on the roads.  Otherwise, poor Bruce will be spending the night at work and I will ride home with someone else.

Cheers,

red cheeks & noses

love
Today is the PERFECT day for snuggling & staying bundled up in your homes, with the heaters on full blast.   If anyone out there is feeling the cold like we are in Texas - its 20 degrees here, but with the wind chill it feels like 6 degrees, I feel your pain all the way..

If you have to be out, I hope you stay warm & have a totally terrific Tuesday!  Oh, and be sure to drink something warm! ♥
