hello mr.(s.) december

all i can say is wow! december is here already, which means christmas, my favorite time of year, is just right around the corner. christmas music has been playing for a few weeks now & people are gradually getting their holiday decor up on display.  which reminds me i need to take pictures of our living room since hanging up the chains and snowflakes.  the ups guy even gave the decor a compliment yesterday when dropping off a box, which makes me smile.

the husband and i started making lists in our heads of all the things we wanted for christmas. and i am finally getting to putting them on paper, so i can make wants a reality.  so i figured why not share some of my christmas wants with my blog friends.

1. jcp is my favorite store. they have clothes for just about everything! and the fact i know someone who can spot me the awesome employee discount helps in the persuasion.  so for christmas, i would love me some clothes from jcp. this is one of my favorites.  and this one is even better!

2. lmfao. need i say more? i love their music, it always puts me in a fantastic mood. plus who doesnt think they are sexy and they know it? or like party rock?!

3. a new wallet.  i need one. badly. i currently dont carry one, and husband is getting on me to get one, but i just have a hard time deciding on one. any suggestions on a goodie but still reasonably priced?

4. texas rangers stuff! like shirts.  i love the texas rangers, if you didnt already know. but anything texas rangers will make me smile this holiday season.

5. opi nail polish! and with the coming out of the muppets line, it makes me love opi even more.  i particularly like rainbow connection. it can go with anything!

6. kindle fire.  the husband and i have been discussing this one for awhile and i think i almost have him convinced it would be a good investment for us.

Wishful Wednesday (3)

Its Wednesday already??  Oh my goodness, this week has definetely flown by for me, but you know nothing is better than waking up and it being halfway done, so no complaints here.

Baseball season!  I couldn't be more excited for the start of the season this year.  I love baseball.  And going to the games and sitting in the stands, eating crap for food, and cheering for your team is so nostalgic and American!  Let's go Rangers!

 Candy!  This is something I've got to get busy on putting together for our wedding.  We are having what I like to call, "Our Love Is Sweet, Experience It!" Bar as part of our wedding reception.  If anyone is like me, candy is one of the best things ever, so why not feed it to those I love?  I've been looking at candy options, container ideas and bar setup ideas, so I'm excited to get started, started planning and buying and enjoying all the colors and flavors that can be imagined..  I mean after all Willy Wonka is one of  my favorite movies. ♥

Wishful Wednesday (2)

Wishful Wednesday (1) was so much fun last week, I decided I needed to make this a routine in my week, plus its simple, easy and what could be more fun than picking out stuff you are wishing for without spending money?! Yea, I dont know either.

With the wedding date getting closer and closer, 73 days to be exact, everything running through my brain is thoughts of wedding stuff, money to pay for stuff and OMG have I forgetten any stuff?!  So this is an ode to some Wedding Stuff!
And now with the wishes this week!!

Cake Tasting! I think this has to be by far one of the best parts of wedding planning?  Who doesn't love eating a bunch of cake and picking your favorite?? The mister, my mom, and I (well and my three year old neice) are doing this Friday and I'm counting down the days, hours and minutes until cake tasting arrival! I'm still trying to come to a decision on a few designs I like for my cake and still feel like I'm going in circles.  Too many decisions, but its a good one to have.  ♥

A haircut!  It sounds simple doesn't it??  Well its more difficult than just running down to the salon and getting a cut.  I'm not doing ANYTHING style wise to my hair until after the wedding, so I can ensure my hairstyle for the wedding day is can be pulled off and maintained through ceremony and reception.  I don't need bangs or layers getting in my way that day.

A getaway vacation with the mister!  I can say we have never been away together - crazy right?  But with schedules, businesses, whiny children (cats) and just the basis of being extremely frugal, we haven't gone away anywhere before, and so a nice vacation for us is definetely in store for us. And this little inn tucked away in a nice little town would be perfect.. or Fredricksburg will do as well, I'm not picky.  After all, Fredricksburg does have amazing B&Bs, antique malls, vintage shops and food.  Who wouldn't want to go there?

I must say I am getting more excited the closer the wedding gets, and so you will be hearing plenty of wedding talk & seeing plenty of pictures, inspiration and stuff I'm DIYing here.   I'm also not against receiving tips, advice, ideas or "calming" techniques for the big day, so share them if you have them.

Brooke over at Bright Wishes, does a weekly Wednesday post about things she is currently wishing for and has asked us to join in.  Not much is going on right now, except a new hair color (pics coming soon) & sleet + some snow..  Yay more of this mess.  Hopefully it doesn't stick around as long as last week's did.

Lots of sunshine!  I'm ready for spring already.. Days full of sun, warmth and bright skies - minus the snow.

Pasta salad! My pasta salad for that - I will be fixing this wish this weekend, because I dont think I can make it any longer with this craving.  I will share the recipe next week.

Money!  I know this should be a no-brainer, but I'm ready to get everything paid for in regards to the wedding.. Its a never ending list people!

A doggie!  I know I have to wait a while on this one, but we will have a dog one of these days.. And I can't wait!

One of my favorite blogs to read is over at Scenic Glory - Lindsay always has something upbeat to say.  In one particular post - she took some time list her likes and wants at that current moment which she got inspiration from another fellow blogger. She gave us the challenge, should we decide to take it, to list our current likes and wants for others to read.

So here are mine.

I like:

• i like checking the mail/email and having something with my name on it - makes me realize someone out there is thinking about me.
• i like conversations with my mom on the phone - she is always good conversation on the long, bumper to bumper drives home from work.
• i like (well love really) the smell of lavendar breeze - so much it sometimes gives me goosebumps :)
• i like spending time with my neice and nephew - they are always excited to see the mister and i.
• i like movie/tv night with the mister.  such a nice way to end the long work days.
• i like mascara and long eyeslashes... so diva!
• i like spaghettios and i'm 26.
• i like going to central market even if i dont end up getting anything.
• i like picnics with the mister - gives me reason to make enormous amounts of pasta salad.
• i like completely black/dark gray outfits - so chic, sophisticated and lovely.

I want:

• i want to be a better baker/chef - take more risks in the kitchen with mixing and matching foods and things
• i want to learn to knit or crochet - so many pretty things you can make with yarn
• i want to start an etsy shop - i love browsing all the shops and would like to have one of my own.
• i want to have our own house one day that i can do whatever i want and not have some rule looming over our heads.
• i want a dog.  simple as that.
• i want to work in a soup kitchen again - it was so rewarding when i did it in the past.
• i want to travel to a quaint little bed & breakfast kind of town with the mister and spend our time being free and lazy
• i want all the politics and messiness of our goverment to go away  - i hate being the laughing stock of the world.
• i want there to be a cure for all things miserable (cancer, aids, MS, polio, you get the idea)
• i want our wedding to be perfect.

What would makes your little ideal world complete?
