gobble your little hearts out.

if anyone knows me, they know i love food.  so it wouldn't be surprising for me to absolutely love the holidays for that reason alone. that excuse to eat more than the food pyramid is comprised of or what all the foodie, know it all, dieticians recommend for a daily, weekly or possibly monthly intake. thankgiving is also about giving thanks, which i started here, but this post is an ode to some of my thanksgiving and/or holiday favorites.  i mean christmas is only a few weeks away, where i will happily repeat this cycle of overeating in an order to please the inner over eating fool thats aching to get out.

below is one of my favorite recipes for the holidays - which i usually end up making and taking to our family meals.

the next four days of mine are going to be jammed packed of holiday meals, family visits, black friday shopping (heck yeas!) & just some nice relaxtion.  i will be back next monday with a recipe for yummy sweet potato casserole!

from the husband and i, we hope you have an extremely blessed & loving Thanksgiving with the ones you love. eat lots, drink some, watch some terrific turkey day football, sleep plenty, shop your hearts out & enjoy the holiday!

love you all.

i can hear the ground singing

hallelujah.

i awoke this morning (well, it was more like 3am) to the sound of rain falling.  it was a welcoming sound.  a sound we havent heard in quite some time.  it rained some on saturday, but not like i was hearing this early morning.   it was heavy.  the gutter couldn't keep up. it made me want to snuggle closer to the husband and stay in bed all day, catching up on the DVR and senseless reality tv that my mind doesnt need but has a guilty desire for.

texas hasnt seen any rain in quite some time & our dear landscapes are really in dire need of it.  so im sure right now their little inner voices are singing sounds of praise for this much needed drink of water.  they are thanking the clouds above. as well are all of us here in texas.

we happily put on our rain gear, pulled out our dusty umbrellas and ventured out on morning commutes. the sound of our dried out wipers scratched across the windshield trying to keep up. they quickly found their niche. i think drivers were stunned by the sudden downpour; driving like there was a sheet of ice on the roads, trying not to hydroplane to their destinations.  i don't think my honda ever hit the speed limit.  but thats okay, because rain was falling.

rain, you are more than welcome to stick around for awhile.
texas won't mind. or atleast the husband and i wont.

happiness greeted with thanks

Thank you everyone for all the kind comments I have been receiving lately (mainly from my award win yesterday!).  Its always nice seeing how much people appreciate and love what I post about daily.

♥

I know one of my many goals for the new year is to stop wishing my days away, but I can't tell you how glad I am that it is Friday. For some reason, it has seemed this week has lasted incredibly way to long. Maybe it something to do with the fact that the last two Fridays, Chistmas Eve & New Year's Eve, I had work holidays, so we only actually worked four days. Oh the next holiday is so far away - Labor Day in May. There I go wishing my life away again.

I hope everyone has a spectacular Friday. It's very much well deserved. This weekend the mister and I have alot going on or so it seems. Going to a play that our best man is in, registering for the biggest day of our lives (wedding), and I think thats it. There could be more, I just forget things alot. So maybe we don't have numerous things, but it feels that way. Oh and I'm going to get more fun stationary & crafting stuff - I'm hoping to find some frames for an old calendar so I can make some lovely wall art for the apartment.

What are all my lovely friends doing this weekend? Anything good? If so, I want to know!
