a recipe: triple chocolate peanut butter pudding cake

who's feeling a little crae crae this morning?? oh dont know what crae crae is? oh thats like the new super hip, cool person slang for crazy apparently.  and that person who's feeling super crae crae, its me.  i dont know if its the lack of sleep catching up with me (thank you non stop, no reason at all barking puppy) or the amount of work at work thats not working that is causing this crae crae feeling, but i have this really bad gut feeling before the week is over (or even possibly today) someone will be crying. whether its me doing the crying or its me causing someone to cry, its gonna happen. and its not intentional at all. its just pure, raw & hard core frustration.

and what do you do when all those feelings are happening? bake something filled with ridiculous amount of chocolate & sugar. thats what!!! i found this recipe thanks to pinterest.  it wasnt actually on pinterest, but when i linked from another recipe on pinterest, it took me to bhg, which i love, which linked me over to this:

Ingredients:
Nonstick cooking spray
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup chocolate milk or regular milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup peanut butter-flavor pieces
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
1/2 cup chopped peanuts
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups boiling water
Vanilla ice cream (optional)
Chocolate bar pieces (optional)

How to:

1. Lightly coat the inside of a 3 1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray; set aside. (oh and when it says a specific size slow cooker, they have a reason for it.. i used a large one, and make cake was thinner than normal, but still delicious.)

2. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, 1/3 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, and baking powder. Add chocolate milk, oil, and vanilla; stir just until moistened. Stir in peanut butter pieces, chocolate pieces, and peanuts. Spread batter evenly in the prepared cooker.

3. In another medium bowl, combine 3/4 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons cocoa powder. Gradually stir in boiling water. Carefully pour cocoa mixture over batter in cooker.

4. Cover and cook on high-heat setting for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until a toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean.

5. Remove liner from cooker, if possible, or turn off cooker. Let stand, uncovered, for 30 to 40 minutes to cool slightly. To serve, spoon pudding cake into dessert dishes. If desired, top with ice cream and chocolate bar pieces.

I dont dare add the nutrional information for this, because I mean if you really want to make this, then you really dont have concern for calorie count, I promise.  But if you still insist, you can find it here.

Thanks bhg for filling my chocolate needs!Enjoy!

'tis the season to be jolly..

sausage balls

pretzel rods, seasoned pretzels, and rolo pretzel turtle candies. my tote bag was packed to the brim <3

My work week this week is only Monday-Wednesday, with Thursday and Friday being our Christmas holiday time off.  And with a short week due to holidays, we decided to have Food Days all three days.. People have been bringing in ridiculous amounts of food the past couple of days, and we still have one more day to go.  I don't know if I'm going to be able to make it - all I have done the last two days is munch and munch.  And of course nothing is healthy.  But I have some super delicious recipes from this week that I'm going to be sharing later this week when I have some more time for extensive blogging...

I decided to make & share Sausage Balls (which turned out delicious, but a small catastrophe struck and they never made it to work), pretzel rods dipped in white almond bark & sprinkles, seasoned pretzels, & pretzel Rolo turtle candies (which are extremely sinful if you haven't experienced them before.) Pictures of the items I took are above.

Nothing to exciting this post, just filling the eyes of my readers with super delicious holiday yumminess!  Love you all! Cheers!

What treats do you like making & giving out at the holidays?

p.s. i'm super excited to see i have 25 followers.. the more the merrier.  i hope to have thousands one day :0)

The Great Cook-a-palooza

weheartit - edited by me.
We are T minus 12 days until Christmas and the list of what I need to make keeps growing and growing and growing!  Like seriously...  Maybe I'm in over my head.  I know I can do it, but sleep is a little important to me.
Here's my list so far:
  • Cherry Danish - the Mister's dad's family side Christmas party - Saturday the 18th
  • Corn Casserole - my mom's mom's side of the family Christmas reunion - Sunday the 19th
  • Sausage Balls (Mild & Spicy) - My work's week of Christmas Food Craze Days!  - Monday the 20th
  • Seasoned Pretzels - Christmas treats for all the coworkers - thats like 25 people folks -  Tuesday the 21st
  • Holiday Pretzel Rods - Christmas treats for all the coworkers - thats like 25 people folks - Tuesday the 21st
  • Rice Crispie Treats - Christmas treats for all the coworkers - thats like 25 people folks - Tuesday the 21st
  • Pretzel/Rolo Candy Treats - Christmas treats for all the coworkers - thats like 25 people folks - Tuesday the 21st
  • Some kind of munchies (TBD) -for Christmas eve w/ my family - Friday the 24th
  • Mexican food (TBD) - for Christmas eve w/ Damon's mom and family - Friday the 24th
  • Christmas Day food (list TBD) - food required for both get togethers - my side and his side.
And thats just what I have so far.  That's so overwhelming to type out then read.  Eeps.  I can do it!! *sound the Rocky song**

I really would also like to make some holiday cupcakes - maybe those can be for Christmas Eves with the families.

**If I have leftovers of Christmas treats (which I'm sure I will) and you would like me to send you a small sampler, send me an email with your info - sugarbearbear@live.com **  PS must be United States address!

Everyone needs to be able to enjoy the yumminess of the Christmas season!

Cheers to tons and tons of FOOD!

“A bad review is like baking a cake with all the best ingredients and having someone sit on it”

-Danielle Steel

It's about that time, that the oven needs to start up and the flour needs to start flying.

It's Christmas treat making time!

Every year, I make it my mission to distribute treats and yummies to loved ones and those I work with. We typically have a cookie exchange at work, giving everyone oodles and oodles of yummy, chewy goodness, but this year, it seems everyone wanted to opt out of the "flour fun." I still plan on having my BAKE-A-THON come hell or high water.

I think it would reallllly be fun to start a treat exchange a la interwebs with all my blogger buddies - but this year i feel that its too late into the season to get anything to anyone in a timely manner. Working in the shipping/export world, I know all about the shipping difficulties during the holidays to other countries, plus the fact that shipping food overseas is extremely difficult. But if anyone domestic (within the US) would like to take part (it may be after the holidays before you get your goodies), let me know.

I think this could be a fun thing to start!

Somehow we convinced Grandma to don the hat

I also whipped up some mini strawberry cupcakes with chocolate buttercream frosting.  They were super delicious, like always!  I was also told that I should own my own bakery - one day maybe, but for now I can only afford to do out of the apartment orders...  If interested lemme know what I can whip up for you and I'll give ya a price!  I'm working on making/ordering business cards...  We'll see how all this pans out!  *crosses fingers*

"Success is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well."

-jim rohn

Criminal Minds always seems to begin and end the show with a quirky, motivational, or inspiring quote - so hey I thought I should do that with this blog.  New quote every post.. Its a good goal to have.

About a week or so ago, I found a Homeade Oreo recipe that I was dying to try.   I mentioned a few posts back that I had tried them and was going to post the information/recipe for them - well I never got around to it.  I know I'm bad at that.  So today is your lucky day - I made them again on Sunday, except this time I colored the frosting orange for a fun Halloween twist.

You can get the lovely recipe here >>>>> Homeade "Oreos"    These are super delicious!  I hope you like them as much as we do.

I still have to make my chocolate goat cheese cupcakes.  Procastination central over here I know.  I will get to it.  Promsie!

killers and cake batter

I'm so glad that sweeps week is over and now the TV series have started again with new shows. I was getting utterly sick of reruns. And OnDemand only updates so many times a month. Damon and I have a ridiculous (or so it seems to me) amount of shows that we watch on a "regular" basis.

Monday:
How I Met Your Mother
Big Bang Theory
MNF (Monday Night Football)
The Closer
Tuesday:
NCIS (The REAL one, not the LA)
So You Think You Can Dance (I love this show for some reason, bc i can't "dance")
Hell's Kitchen
Addicted to Beauty (Oxygen)
Wednesday:
Criminal Minds
Modern Family (New Series)
Thursday:(by far our busiest)
Grey's Anatomy
Flash Forward (New Series, kinda like lost)
Project Runway (mine)
Bones
Mentalist
CSI
Friday:
CATCH UP!
I must say our DVR records always always. Because when we aren't watching a regular, NFL network is on or a football game. I used to hardly ever watch TV, but now it consumes my life.

I tried the Triple Chocolate Bliss cake last night. MMM its sooo chocolately and delicious. Perfect for the non-committed and even committed chocoholics.

ancho chiles and stitches

so since my last real "in depth" post about the happenings of mine and Damon's lives, many things have happened that I guess could be considered newsworthy material.

Baby cat Camille came home today from the vet. Damon picked her up this morning so I have yet to see her. She got all the typical baby cat things accomplished this last visit (spay, declaw, boosters, microchip, etc) It was very quiet around the house without her and I think the boys missed her dearly, but probably would never admit it.

~

I finally broke down and spent money on a bundt pan. Yes yes I know every REAL baker has one, but up to that point I didn't and kept talking about getting one, but hadnt. So now I have one and the first lovely recipe going in it is....

triple chocolate bliss cake

~

I also am going to make the Spicy Tortilla Soup out of my Food Network magazine. Yum yum, I can't wait for the turn out.
