it would have been a million times better with vanilla ice cream.

snail mail social is moving right along.  a handful of people have signed and i couldnt be more thrilled. everything has to start somewhere, so i'm super excited everytime a new person signs up.  there is still plenty of time to sign up - the deadline is wednesday may 23.

in order to particiapte all i need from you are your name, address, & blog address if you have one. it would also be helpful if you follow along via GFC so if there any blog post updates about s.m.s you will see them in your reader.

i wore my bangs in a braid for the first time yesterday.  and surprisingly i really like how it turned out.  very different, but very fun.

i go back and forth on how to wear my hair all the time. it doesnt cooperate very well, so the easier the better. but straight every day gets old really quick.

any suggestions on quick easy ways to style?

last night i made triple chocolate peanut butter pudding cake.  i was very hesitant at first because it looked really "gooey" around the edges. but when i served it, ohhhh emmmm geee it was delicious. would have been much better if i had vanilla ice cream to serve with it.

recipe coming soon..

hope your wednesday has started off and continues terrific!

chuga chuga. chuga chuga. choo choo!

pictures - some are mine - some are from weheartit

something about trains fascinates me.  whether its the clicking along on the tracks, the blowing of the horn, or the train cars themselves, i always fell captured by their simplicity.  zooming down the tracks, hauling anywhere from cars to food to living beings, the thought always crosses my mind of what their destination may be. and of course all the things they have seen along their trip.

my drive home from work, i pass over two rail tracks within just a few miles of our house.  and the major train station for cargo and such is just north of us. we can see all the lights and hear all the sounds of the train world. they are comforting sounds. i can judge when its time for me to leave for work, by the blowing of the train's horn either leaving or entering the station. pretty awesome if you ask me.

we have a train in grapevine that carts people between there and downtown. the trantula, they call it. its pretty whimsical if you ask me. i've ridden once. and have been hoping that husband and i will embark at that little adventure again sometime soon. as the train makes it way from one city to another, a little history lesson is taught about the train itself & you can hear the giggles and excitement from the children waving out the windows to on lookers.

the best part? during the summer months, they have a night time train robbery event. after passengers board and start their way down the tracks, "robbers" ride up on horses and take the train over.  sounds like my cup of tea.  come on summer!

snail mail social

i just finished participating in the send something good project over at gentri's blog.  well a few weeks ago.  and i also received my package from my "secret" friend and i can't tell you the amount of happiness the little package brought to my heart and soul.  each intricate little item was picked out for me. it was like she had known me forever and each of those little items, i cherish. they make me smile every time i look at them, because at those particular moments, someone else was thinking about me. which brings me to the point of this post.

i had in the past done a pen pal type situation, writing letters to ladies all over, but it became a huge task, writing numerous letters in a week, but the idea of sending and receiving snail mail excited me.  so i figured something like the send something good project, where everyone is paired up, with someone else would work a million times better.

guidelines would be simple:
-each person is given the name and address of their receiver.
-once signed up, you are committed for that month to ensure your receiver gets something and isnt left hanging.
-each "package" would a be letter/card and a small trinket or two for your receiver to enjoy.
-no exuberant money to be spent. five to ten dollars for the package. a little goes a long way.
-no commitment required. you do not have to participant each month. you can quit at any time
-each month you receive the name and address of someone new to keep things fun and fair. if you get the same person twice & would like someone new, let me know asap so we can try to switch you with someone else.
-you must have your package out by the 15th of every month to ensure the receiver gets their package before months end.

i will then do a link up party, featuring the posts of what everyone received.

the first swap would begin for the month of june.  if you would like to participate, please send me your name, address & blog address - cheersbethani {at} live {dot} com

participation is open to all readers, domestically and internationally.

deadline to participate for june is wednesday may 23.
your receivers information will be sent to you on may 31.
deadline to send package will be june 15.
link up party featuring what everyone received for june will be july 2.
then july will begin. and so forth.

i would love for you to tell your friends, share on your blog, etc. the bigger the better you know?

our grocery list includes lots of beer & maybe some carbs

the cows down the road.

its friday! yes i just did that to you. but admit, it is kind of funny. its going to be a full one for husband and i.

buying a thank you gift for the vet clinic who saved our child is one of the first on our list.  based on my reputation this week, baking was not a choice.

i may try to convince husband that we should rent this to watch this weekend.  we havent spend an night just watching movies & eating junk in awhile. i miss it. alot.

might spray paint some stuff & let puppy run amok in the yard.  she finally gets to break free of being on a lease in the yard this weekend. thank goodness. puppies. dont. like. leases. unless they are for chewing of course.
if i get the courage to bake or cook something new, it might be something like this or this or this. they all sound delicious and i am after all a slow cooker's biggest fan.

my finger and toe nails need some major tlc.  these should do the trick!

hopefully we arent disappointed. husband, his step mom and i are checking it out tomorrow morning.

and of course, lots of time with our mommies.

whats your weekend look like?
